    Description

    NATIVE AMERICAN
HOPI SNOW MAIDEN KACHINA BY TYSON NEQUATEWA
Hopi Kachina carver, Tyson Nequatewa has been creating kachinas for over 40 years.  Over the years, he has won many awards for his work.  Tyson expertly carves each kachina out of the root of a cottonwood tree with an amazing amount of detail and precision.  Each kachina that Tyson carves, has a highly detailed corn body.
The Nuvak’chin Mana, or the Snow Maiden, prays for the return of cold weather so the moisture in the earth gets replenished.  She is part of the Niman festival and mostly accompanies Hemis.   A wonderful addition to your Native American art or Hopi Kachina collection.  Signed
